About Me

Acquiring Excellence is owned and operated by Deborah Webb Halasz.

Deborah graduated from Simpson University in Redding, California with a Bachelor Degree in Liberal studies. From there, she earned a master’s degree in Educational psychology in 2005 and is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in the same subject matter, both from Capella University.

Deborah has studied the Spanish language from the age of nine through classroom and immersion instruction. She has spent time in Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, and Colombia. While in Costa Rica, Deborah completed one semester’s worth of studies at Universidad Nacional in Heredia, Costa Rica.

She has experience in tutoring high school students in Spanish, assisting native Spanish speakers in literacy learning, and translating for church and medical organizations. Though she is new to the field of research, she has completed numerous courses on methodology and design during her post-graduate studies.

Deborah currently lives in the Puget Sound area of Washington state with her husband and six dogs.
